Dritto dritto, Sempre dritto

Doesn't matter where you wish to go, if you ask for directions in Naples you will get the same answer: "go straight, always straight". We arrived to Naples after an unusual travel that took 12 hours instead of 3 and a half. ( I will not bore you with the details, let me just say an unintentional trip to Istanbul and a mass lose of suitcases were involved )
We couldnt decide if this reaction is a result of the lack of tourist and a way to stay polite when the Napolitanos did not know where we wished to go, or if it is just a joke for stupid tourists.
The first impression of Naples at 11pm was of course "let's go back", the city was everything everybody warned us from: dark, full of trashy ladies and of actual trash. In the morning of couse everything looked diffrent, we walked around the old city and for lunch enjoyed the best Pizza ever. When it began to rain we entered the MADRE museum that is the Contemporary art museum, a must! beautiful exhibitions that includs the works of: Anish Kapour, Richard Long, Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons the amazing Sislej Xhafa and many more. see more info here

In the evening we had a great Italian meal in a restaurant situated downtown on the bay. We searched for this specific restaurant, that ended up being a wonderful surprise: In the latest Tom Clancy that my dad is reading there was a debate which is the best restaurant in the world. One of them is this one (can't remember the name, I'm looking) and the other in Rome (hopefully we will visit it as well).

Here are some photos I took in the city. when walking in the narrow streets of the old city, you find some terraces and buildings full of medieval charm...

Galleria Emanuele Vittorio - great shopping area

Gino Sorbillo - best Pizza in Naples
We only had 24 hours in the city and frankly it was enough. Don't get me wrong, I don't regret coming to Naples as I love dicovering new places, but I was a bit dissapointed.
The city was built about 2000 years ago but it seems that for the last century a lot changed and not in a good way.I think the city is crumbling down: the traffic is crazy dangerous, you keep looking around for pick pockets and feel like at every moment someone is robbing you. The architecture is so special and different than anthing I ever saw but sadly I doubt if it was
ever renovated.

I even found a super cute Vintage store thanx to Noga
new pullover :Gas // vintage scarf from Oblomova, see above.

I think I have a thing for laundry... It is cloths after all...:)

For conclution, great food, great view, great history, the rest not so much.
Stay tuned for more adventures in Southern Italy. I hope you had a good weekend. Ciao!
