Finally Sunny

We woke up to a sunny Sunday morning and decided to check out the "Haut Marais" (3rd Quarter), as there are few spots open yet not full of tourists on Sundays. If you seek Breakfast or Brunch "Le marche des enfants rouges" is the place for you. A hidden Market with different types of food stands from Organic to devine Couscous.

In one of the corners of the market, a group of the neighbors created a collective garden. Together they decide what to plant and then share the organic fruits and vegetables. Inspiring!

After all that we walked around, looked into antiques in the little flee market on "rue de Bretagne" and finaly sat on a bench in the parc and digested the Couscous. Have a lovely week everybody!

A hint of Eiffel

The Summer in Paris apperently occured during the Spring and it seems that the fall is here this week: cloudy sky, dry leaves on the sidewalk and grumpy French people.
Of course it causes no problem for me, like a true lover, I will take this city anyway you will give it to me.
The rest of the Parisiennes (Those who didnt leave for the Vacances yet) walk around looking pissed as their already- tanned legs and their toes painted red, get wet in the rain...

Vienna Vidi Vici II

My quicky in Vienna taught me that in Europe, if you stick around long enough and if you are patient, you will eventually find your place. It took me four days to crack Vienna but I proudly present you the complete (hip) city guide for the Austrian capital:

1. Cafeine and Sugar:
If you get tired/borred but it's too early/late for a nap you can pause in one of the following coffee houses, by the way linger as much as you like they won't kick you out. (tested and approved)

Demel - ice cream and Pastries. Kohlmarkt 14
Aida: it's everywhere and it's pink
2. Lunch and Dinner:
You won't stay hungry for long here...
.Greasy hot dog and pickles.Yumm
Fresh soup and salads, Neuer Markt

Figlmuller since 1905 -The biggest, thinnest, most famous and best tasting Schnizel
3. Cool Shopping:
All the big brands (from H&M to American Apparel) can be found in Mariahilfergasse. For the indipendant Boutiques go to Neubaugasse. You can find cool clothes, shoes and accessories in the young neighbourhood.

The only Stabilo store in the world (!) Neubaugasse 1

Freitag Neubaugasse 26
Babbet's- spices and books for cooks, Am Hof square

Vienna Vidi Vici

Halfway through my visit in Vienna and it seems that ever since Marie Antoinette left town to marry Louis king of France, the city is the same. At first glance you might think that time has stopped at the 18th century, that is probably the golden era of Vienna:  Horses, Balls, Opera and Mozart. At second glance you realise your first impression was correct - all that there is to see in Vienna is what remained and was preserved from back then.
That`s what I call Retro!

Don`t get me wrong, the city is beautiful and the history of old Vienna is
fascinating, but I guess it just lacks the spices I`m after. I hav`nt found street fashion( besides the dudes dressed as Mozart trying to sell concert tickets...)or fashion what so ever. On the other hand food is amazing! I tried so far five different Schnitzels, the local hot dog and a soup bar all yummy.
I am soon heading to Paris, Don't worry a much more thrilling post about Vienna is yet to come- To be continue...

Cheap (Monday) etc

My "touristic/german learning/feeling the city" vacation in Berlin is over now. And to conclude an amazing stay I wish to share with you my findings. I dont realy know who to thank, but I am so very thankfull that this city is so cheap. It starts with the food - from the infamous Currywurst to Asian delices, you can have a complete meal with only 5€. It continues to the alcohol, in most bars beer is served for about 2,50€.
And to complete the circle of life - Shopping:
I sometimes feel the urge to pinch myself in the local second hand stores, the quantities are unbelievable and yes you need to spend some time looking into every box and on every hanger but it is worth it.

I had some luck in a few spots, here are the ones I recommand. Shabat Shalom.

Second hand by weight. 14,99€ for a kilo (!)
Colours: 102 Bergmannstraße, Kreuzberg

Four floors of second hand clothes, shoes and furniture
Humana, Frankfurter Tor, Friedrichshain

The best flee market ever. For second hand and new stuff too
Every Sunday in Mauer Park, Prenzlauer-Berg

Short: twentyfourseven
Top and Tights: H&M
Bag (new): flee market

Flee Market findings:
Bag local designer: 20€
Jeans-Cheap Monday: 25€
earings and necklace: 3€ each

Grafitti and Greens

I´ts been almost two years since I last visited Berlin, And It feels like home. This is the second city after Paris where I feel like I belong. I´ts been an amazing week exploring the city with my new camera. It seems like I see things diffrently. For example I noticed just now how colorful the city is. Even when the sky was a bit grey, I found myself walking around with this huge smile admiring the beatiful architecture and the art of grafitti.
Our apprtment is located in Freidrichshain in east berlin, almost fully rebuilt by the comunists after being destroyed during war world 2. Nowadays it is ruled by punks and I can swear I never saw that many tatoos and piercings in a single street!

Have a lovely week everybody!

The view from our appatment, mom dont freak out...
